Cladosporium

  

   A genus of mold which can be found within indoor environments. Certain species are pathogenic (harmful to human health) and cause sever sickness to those who are affected.

  • Prolonged exposure can weaken the immune system allowing opportunistic bacteria and viruses to infect the host.
  • Airborne molds such as Cladosporium not only cause severe allergies but in large amounts can severely effect asthmatics and persons with other restrictive airway diseases.
  • Preliminary analysis reveals that Cladosporium has been linked to impotence.
  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's) are attributed to this mold at certain stages of its existence.
  • Prolonged use of antibiotics, which are used to treat Cladosporium infections, further debilitate the immune system making it more difficult to fight off other infections.
