Dust Mites

  

   A microscopic insect found in the indoor environment, capable of causing severe reactions to persons who have dust mite allergies. The disintegrated remains of the dust mite and feces of these creatures become airborne and comprise a large percentage of "house dust".

  • 400,000 or more dust mites can live in one tablespoon of house dust.
  • Dust mites live and breed in bedding, pillows, mattresses, carpets, and upholstery.
  • Dust mite feces and disintegrated carcasses are "triggers" for allergy and asthma sufferers.
  • Dust mites become airborne during vacuuming or by walking on carpet.
  • Household insecticides have NO effects on dust mites.
