Who is Affected?

For years people have assumed that only those in industrial environments are at risk of environmental contamination. We are now aware that virtually everyone is at risk. Studies have shown that all indoor environments are capable of producing hazardous levels of Mold, Bacteria, and Viruses.

Schools, day care centers, nursing homes, hospitals, and public buildings have traditionally been considered safe. We are now aware that children, the elderly, and the infirmed are more at risk of contamination than the general public. Common indoor environments for this group often places them at an even higher risk than industrial workers. These environments are often become breeding grounds for the bacteria, molds, and viruses that are introduced by the influx of different people, pets, and insects.

According to figures from the World Health Organization (WHO), one out of every three (1/3) buildings in the world today are "sick buildings." Because the health risks are so widespread, building owners, managers, tenants, and employees MUST be made aware of the risks involved with toxic molds and the symptoms that signal the problem.

"Certain individuals may be especially sensitive to indoor air pollutants because their age and/or health conditions may be reducing their physiological defenses to the effects of indoor air pollutants."
-International Conference on Indoor Air Quality and Climate - Stockholm, Sweden

Enviro-CURE is concerned with the general lack of awareness of this problem. Upon request, Enviro-CURE will make available to organizations literature concerning the health risks involved with toxic molds and bacteria.
